Horizon T101 Treadmill
The Horizon T101 treadmill was introduced in 2010 as an update of previous, similar models. It is Horizon’s least expensive model, though, it’s affiliated brand, Merit, does have less expensive models. Horizon’s more expensive models, the T202 and T203, build on the design of the T101 with bigger motors and more features. The motor and belt on the T101 are adequate for walking and jogging for the average-sized person. More serious runners should consider the bigger models.
In early 2011, the
Horizon T101 was named a Best Buy by one of the well-known consumer products publications. This counts for a lot with us. Horizon provides a standard warranty on one year on parts and labor, which is very good for a treadmill in the under $1,000 price range.
Horizon T202 Treadmill
The Horizon T202 Treadmill is new for 2011, an update of the T102 treadmill. The most noticeable addition is the iPod docking station. The T202 is the next step up from the T101. It offers a slightly bigger motor (2.5 chp) and higher user weight capacity (325 lbs) than the T101, at a cost of about $200 more. Those small differences in quality and significant difference in price could be interpreted in different ways. We interpret it to mean that you should spend the extra $200 if you can afford it.
The T202, as well as the T101, won a Best Buy rating from a leading consumer products review magazine in 2011. This has apparently caught Horizon by surprise, because they have had difficulty keeping the
Horizon T202 in stock after receiving the Best Buy rating.
