Pacemaster Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum
Pacemaster models, in ascending price, are the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. All models are known for their high quality. Since they are sold exclusively at specialty fitness retailers, their prices tend to be higher than many comparable models. Two uncommon features of the Bronze are its maintenance-free deck and 100% welded frame. The welded frame (no bolts) reduces squeaking and adds to stability. The Bronze has still been criticized for being unstable, but this seems an unavoidable result of a light treadmill being used by people who are heavier than the treadmill. The Bronze does not come with a heart rate monitor, MP3 plug-in, or video monitor as do most of the models in its class.
The Silver adds the heart rate monitor, some built-in programs, readouts, and about $200 to the purchase price.
The Gold adds a bigger belt. The Platinum adds a longer warranty and E-Courses, a virtual running software similar to ICON’s iFit.
